Peter E. Schofel

Managing Partner

Peter directs the acquisition, development and leasing operation for Eastman Companies’ office, retail and industrial portfolio. He distinguished himself during the real estate crisis by successfully repositioning several Class B properties into Class A facilities. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Metro YMCA’s of the Oranges, as well as on its Executive Committee, and is chairman of the Livingston Business Improvement District. Additionally, he is a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and BOMA. Peter received his CPA license in 1985 and is a licensed real estate salesperson and a Real Property Administrator. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ohio State University.

Michael C. Schofel

Partner

Michael has been a specialist in construction and development since the 1980s, and is the driving force behind many of Eastman Companies’ successful renovation and design/build operations. He is immediate past-president of the Entrepreneur’s Organization – New Jersey Chapter and serves on the Executive Leadership Team of the Essex County Division of the American Heart Association. Recently, he served as the East Coast director of GSEA – Global Student Entrepreneur Award and is a past president of the Livingston Area Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Building Owners and Management Association (BOMA) and BOMA – Regional Owners Council, the Institute of Real Estate Management, CoreNet Global, Industrial Office Real Estate Brokers Association (IOREBA) and the U.S. Green Building Council. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester and is a licensed New Jersey real estate broker.

Eric J. Maurer

Director of Leasing

Eric oversees all leasing campaign functions for the company’s entire 1.5-million-square-foot portfolio of office and retail space, and land. His responsibilities include tours, lease negotiation and execution, as well as ongoing tenant and broker relations. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lehigh University and is a certified public accountant. In 2010, Eric was the recipient of the American Cancer Society’s Robert J. Cohen Humanitarian Award and has been involved for 20 years in the Metro Region American Cancer Society Golf Outing, an event that has raised more than $1 million for cancer research. Eric is actively involved in his community as a youth softball coach and a member of his church, and serves on his college fraternity alumni board governing body. He also is an avid athlete and outdoor enthusiast who enjoys competing in triathlons and playing beach volleyball, and holds a first degree black belt in martial arts.
