Eastman Companies installed two car chargers at the Eisenhower Corporate Campus in April 2019 as part of the company’s commitment to creating sustainable, eco-friendly office spaces.

The ChargePoint CT4021 Level 2 Commercial Charging Stations are the latest generation of car charging technology and feature a user-friendly interface and powerful, energy-efficient charging. The benefits of electric charging stations to the environment and commercial buildings is well-documented. In a recent article, PSE&G stated that charging stations attract new customers, employees, and tenants who align with the business’ interest in clean, environmentally-friendly workspaces.

Eisenhower Corporate Campus strives to be one of the most eco-friendly offices in New Jersey. In May 2019 the building earned Silver LEED Certification for Existing Buildings, Operations and Maintenance from the U.S. Green Building Council. The building is also Energy Star-certified, meeting strict energy performance standards set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency.

In addition to the recently installed car chargers, Eisenhower Corporate Campus also features both ground and roof-mounted solar panels that reduce carbon emissions and energy costs while increasing energy efficiency, low-flow toilets, sinks, and urinals to decrease water usage, automatic light sensors to reduce energy usage in the restrooms, and the exclusive use of environmentally conscious LED lights.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, electric vehicles reduce emissions, benefit the economy, and save consumers money on fuel costs. Eastman offers the charging stations for free as a part of the building amenities, and they operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Eastman has always prioritized giving back to our tenants by making sure they have the best experience possible,” Michael Schofel, Co-Managing Partner, said. “Being environmentally conscious is a big part of that.”

Recognized leaders in high-quality real estate developments, Eastman Companies and its affiliated companies are celebrating over 40 years of owning, managing and developing properties throughout Northern New Jersey. Headquartered in Livingston, N.J., the full-service firm’s portfolio totals more than 2 million square feet of office, retail and industrial space in Essex, Morris, Bergen and Burlington counties.
