National Premium Indoor Cycling Chain Leases 3,200 SF at Eastman-Managed Center

LIVINGSTON, N.J. – CycleBar has signed a lease for 3,200 square feet at The Shoppes at the Livingston Circle in Livingston, marking the premium indoor cycling chain’s first Essex County location and the franchise’s continued growth in cities across the United States. The 93,000-square-foot open-air shopping center, located at 277 Eisenhower Parkway, is managed and developed by Livingston-based Eastman Companies.

The transaction was negotiated by Florian Susserman and Stephanie Harris of Ripco Real Estate Corp. for Eastman Companies. Jamie Sackeim of The Dartmouth Company of NJ, LLC represented the tenant.

Fitness chains are highly viable destination tenants and active players in today’s retail landscape, according to Peter Schofel, Eastman’s managing partner. “People of all ages are more mindful of healthy living than ever before. Affordable fitness concepts create a unique shopping experience at retail centers while generating considerable consumer traffic,” he said. “CycleBar represents an exciting addition to The Shoppes at the Livingston Circle and we are pleased to bring this wonderful amenity to those who live and work in Livingston and in the surrounding communities.”

The growing boutique fitness chain has more than 200 locations currently operating or in development nationwide. CycleBar offers full-body workouts tailored for all fitness levels and ages at a price that is lower than most competitors. Clients enjoy concierge-level service; top-of-the-line equipment; and free premium amenities including cycling shoes, filtered water, snacks, showers with plush robes, towels and more.

The chain’s “Rock Your Ride” environment creates an unparalleled, multisensory journey for participants, according to Dr. Charlotte Jones-Burton, who co-owns the Livingston franchise with her husband, Delvin A. Burton. “CycleBar calms the mind, elevates spirit and revives senses, no matter where you are on your fitness journey,” said Dr. Jones-Burton. “Each workout is fueled with amazing, energy-enhancing music and rider-specific performance data (known as CycleStats™) in a CycleTheater™ that is part sanctuary, part concert venue.”

At CycleBar Livingston, instructors – also known as CycleStars™ – will use a variety of challenges to help participants improve their performance and reach their fitness goals. A range of classes will meet varying needs and incorporate different themes to infuse energy into the theater-style studio. CycleBeats™, the chain’s proprietary in-house and online music database, features millions of songs and videos for participants to enjoy during the ride and via playlists that are emailed to them immediately afterwards.

“We spent many months looking for the ideal location to open our CycleBar franchise and found it in Livingston. This close-knit, diverse and health-conscious community is situated in a prime business area, and The Shoppes at the Livingston Circle’s accessibility and desirable co-tenancy were very appealing to us,” said Delvin Burton. “Our goal with CycleBar Livingston is to create a community hub filled with empowered clients who share similar goals of health and well-being. ‘We Ride as One’ is one of our core principles.”
